{"id":1496,"date":"2012-09-17T09:54:56","date_gmt":"2012-09-17T03:54:56","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/williamjcobb.com\/blog\/?p=1496"},"modified":"2012-09-17T09:54:56","modified_gmt":"2012-09-17T03:54:56","slug":"lewis-clarks-lolo-pass-campsite-207-years-later","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/williamjcobb.com\/blog\/index.php\/2012\/09\/17\/lewis-clarks-lolo-pass-campsite-207-years-later\/","title":{"rendered":"Lewis &amp; Clark&#039;s Lolo Pass Campsite, 207 years later"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>So I&#8217;m traveling in Montana just now, and visited Lolo Pass and the Glade Creek campsite of the Lewis &amp; Clark &#8220;Corps of Discovery&#8221; almost exactly 207 years after they were there (they passed through on September 13th, 1805, and I was there on September 15th), but what was most obvious about the area was the choking smog of forest fire smoke. It&#8217;s intense up here. We drove almost two hundred miles through peasoup fog fire smoke. And the locals say this was an unusually hot summer.
